We took the kids to the circus for the very first time on Wednesday night. I knew that they would love it, but I didn't realize how much I would love it too. I remember going to the circus only a handful of times in my life and not too much stood out. However, this show called "Dragons" put out by Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey was outstanding and surpassed all of my expectations. I was blown away as were my children by the stunts and gorgeous animals featured in the show. If you ever have the opportunity to see this show, I would highly recommend it. This circus experience is literally the top of my list. We are already looking forward to going again next year.

Project Life | Week 25

Week 25 started off with Father's Day. We celebrated with a potluck at our house. The weather was cooperative and wasn't too hot. I love this photo of Taylor sitting on Hank's lap laughing their hearts out! My mom also passed down her vintage Barbie to Taylor. My girl is a luck girl!

I included two inserts: one of Father's Day cards for Hank and one with the kids swimming report cards.

On the last page, I included photos of Taylor's dance recital. I plan to do a layout in her personal scrapbook with a lot more photos. And then I included some photos and the wedding invitation for my sweet friend Kelly who I have known since high schoool. At her wedding, they had a photo booth with dress-up props. We sure enjoyed being goofy!

Recital 2012

Last weekend Taylor performed in her second recital. This year she took two classes: tap/ballet and hip hop/jazz funk. She still loves dressing up daily in different dance outfits and was especially excited that she got  to wear two costumes at the year-end recital. When I asked what her favorite type of dance is, she always opts for tap. It must be something to do with the cool shoes she gets to wear. This year she has really grown, and she managed to memorize two different choreographies. We are taking the summer off but can't wait to start her back up in the Fall.

Project Life | Week 24

WEEK 24 | Taylor participated in Feed My Starving Children and was able to raise money to help package and feed 29 starving children in Africa for one entire year. This was a summer service project for Polished Cornerstones -- the girls Bible study that Taylor is part of. This week I took Landon out for our first mommy-son date night. He wanted ice cream and chose the most colorful one in the store.

Saturday was a busy day. Taylor had her dress rehearsal for her upcoming dance recital. She was invited to a birthday party for her friend Bethany. And, we celebrated Father's Day with my parents at Desert Ridge. Another full and busy weekend!

Project Life | Week 23

Highlights from this week include finding a mama quail nesting her seven baby quail in our big flower pot right outside our front door. Unfortunately, we scared her and the babies off. This week also included swim time with cousin Laila and Kendrie while Grandma Carol watches the kiddos when I am at work. And last but not least, our garden is taking off like crazy. It is amazing to see the change that has taken place in the past three weeks.

This week I included the three kids report cards from swim class as well as a cute photo of Ryland enjoying his class. This week was a little light on photos so I journaled about our summer schedule and wrote about Taylor's daily craft time that she looks forward to. And I included a short but sweet letter from my Granny in Canada saying how much she misses her great grandchildren.

Project Life | Week 22

This week was a good one! It started off with a long weekend with Memorial Day on Monday. We headed to one of the pools in our community with some friends and let the kids swim and go down the water slides continuously. Taylor said she counted and went down 24 times... I think 10 times is more realistic. We had a nice picnic with some dear friends and the weather was perfect. On this page, I included a photo of Taylor and some of her friends at Sunday school as well as a card she made me that said, "wow I am a blessed girl."

Swim lessons started back up this week. This will be our life for the next month or two. The kids have lessons 4 times a week. Yikes! It keeps them busy and they are learning a lot and I have almost 30 minutes to myself. It's really a win win situation ;) I also included a journaling card with the week highlights. This week the kids saw their first movie in a theater. They loved it. Now they count down the days to our Fridays. Can't beat $7 a person for a total of 10 movies over the summer. We are loving the Harkins Summer Movie Fun program.

Project Life | Week 21

Lots of fun stuff going on. This week our backyard, above-ground garden was completed. Ryland wore big boy undies for practice. Taylor enjoyed hopscotch on the back patio. And, Landon had his first evaluation for speech.

This week I included the evaluation report as an insert. On the right side, I included photos of the kids' last day of school, a sweet photo of the boys in their new baseball hats, and photos of our gardening experience.

A closer shot of the journaling. This week we kicked off 87 days of summer!
