Project Life | Week 11

This week Taylor and her buddies nextdoor helped hanging plastic eggs from our from tree for Easter decorations. Taylor also decided to cut her doll's, Katie, hair during naptime. When I asked why, she told me that Katie's bangs were in the way.... That is the same excuse that she gave me last August when she cut off all of her own bangs.

The boys continued to play with their monster trucks and we had a triple date with some of our best friends. And for my birthday present, Hank is working on the backyard getting it green again.

Landon's Prayer

DEAR JESUS,
THANK YOU FOR THE MAN WHO GOT HURT.
PLEASE HEAL HIM. 
PLEASE DON’T LET HIM HAVE AN ACCIDENT AGAIN. 
AMEN.

We have a little tradition of praying for the injured people whenever we see an ambulance or firetruck drive by with its lights and sirens on. Landon offered to say the prayer this week, and I wrote it down because it was so special. I believe that the prayers from my little ones are heard, and God is honored by them.

Project Life | Week 10

Week 10 is one of my favorite spreads this year.

Not too much happened because the kids and I were sick on and off throughout the week. Some highlights include Monday Family Pizza Night at Sardella's as well as Hank's and my 14th wedding anniversary.

The week included lots of playtime in the backyard, doctor appointments and haircuts. Friday night was "Fake An Injury" Club for Wyld Life. I also included a card with Landon's prayer written out from this week. I will add it as a separate post because it was just that special!

Project Life | Week 9

Week 9 started off with a one-year anniversary celebration at our church. I was a bit teary eyed at the service. In fact, the whole weekend was emotional since I was a bit sleep deprived. I cried when the urgent care doctor was sending Landon to the ER for possible surgery. I cried after I dropped him back off at Grandma and Grandpa's house for the rest of the weekend. I cried big time while watching "The Vow" with Hank. And, I cried at the church service commemorating its first year. I remember begging Hank at some point during our weekend to put me to bed so I wouldn't be so emotional. Yikes! On a brighter note, one of the mornings this week while we were heading to school, we noticed five hot air balloons over our little community. The kids absolutely loved it!

We made worms 'n' dirt for dessert on Thursday night. Taylor and Landon helped me put gummy worms into chocolate pudding mixed with Oreo cookie crumbs. And my "girls," whom I adore, came over to babysit while Hank and I attended a new core group. Hank's Oma came over Friday afternoon as my health was quickly take a downhill turn. I slept most of the weekend. Saturday morning, Landon stayed back with me and we snuggled and watched the national gymnastic championships. Landon told me that when his arm is all better, he wants to do gymnastics. Hmmm.

Project Life | Week 8

Week 8 | February 19-25

What a week! It sure ended with a bang but started out nice and slow...as slow as a family of five can be with three kids aged five and under. On Sunday afternoon, we took the kids to a park close to our house. I usually don't like to take the three kids by myself because all of my kids are wanderers and adventurous. None of them stick close to my side. In one of the photos, I documented Taylor's beloved red glitter shoes. The kid has never seen the Wizard of Oz but loves these shoes just like Dorothy did.

This week the kids were off from school due to an early spring break. So we had a couple of playdates scattered throughout the week when I wasn't working. At the end of the week, we had our Wyld Life all area allnighter up in Anthem. Hank spoke to 100 junior highers and he managed to stay up all.night.long! I headed home around midnight because I am a wuss. Good thing I did though... Our kids were spending the weekend at Grandma and Grandpa's house and this weekend off for us had been planed for awhile. Early Saturday morning, I got the phone call that Landon had attempted a cartwheel, following after Taylor's lead, and his hand gave out bringing him shoulder first crashing on the ground. Grandpa Don heard a pop and knew something bad had just happened. After a visit to urgent care where he was x-rayed and given a sling, the doctor sent us with Landon's x-ray to the ER since his break was pretty bad and unusual. He ended up breaking his left clavicle...something he managed to do at 18 months as well. The ER doctor said he did not need surgery and would heal in time and to follow up with a pediatric orthopedic doctor the following week. Not the type of ending to the week that we were wanting but, hey, life happens.

Ryland-isms

Ryland says the cutest things. The way he says them and his timing make us all laugh. I don't ever want to forget his words.

In addition to his talkative nature, Ryland loves to make animal and monster truck sounds for entertainment. He is wonderful!
