Celebrating My Girl

I'm back! I have been neglecting my blog even with the best intentions to keep it active. My goal is to post updates at least two times a week...that should be doable with my ever busy life as a full-time writer and mom. My vision is to share family updates, photos of my scrapbooking/photography projects, and our Colorado adventures. So stayed tuned!

A few weeks ago, my firstborn turned eight! I don't even know how that is possible. I remember it was like yesterday that I was taking her home from the hospital. I know I am biased, but she was the cutest little thing and a beautiful little girl. Today, she is half way to being a full-blown woman. And she is gorgeous inside and out. I'm smitten I must say...even with the eight-year-old attitude, the stink eye, and all of the emotions from one side of the rainbow to the other. She always has been and always will be my miracle.

For Taylor's eighth birthday, all she really wanted was a "sleepover" with a few of her good friends. So instead of a large party this year, we opted for a smaller one...it was perfect. Usually every year, I pay a photographer to take photos of my child to memorialize their birthday milestones. This year, I decided to take a stab at it myself as I am starting to feel more confident behind the lens.

Below are photos of the photos that I scrapbooked in Taylor's album to document her birthday and turning eight!
